Exquisitely awful, yet deliciously tacky. Future Folk is the the lowest budget silly movie you’ll ever love disliking, featuring banjo and guitar duets sung by space aliens in plastic bucket helmets while they try to save their home planet and Earth… for love.
Looking past the polish of exceptional music, animation and story telling, you’ll find a fresh perspective in Soul. It’s not an action packed riveting adventure that the younger audience will flock to. It is, however, a heart warming reminder to us “bigger kids” embrace the moment. I particularly love how Soul solidifies ethereal concepts about our mortality, all without the weight of doom or judgment, unburdened by any ideological constraints. And the jazz is legit.
