Sci-fi exceptionally written and executed, while brilliant acted by Sam Rockwell. There’s so much to say here, but it all gives away the pivot in the plot. Writer/director Duncan Jones really turned this into a compelling human story set on the surface of the moon with two characters: a man and a robotic assistant. You need to see this and you have to give it until the 1 hour mark. You won’t be disappointed.
Rod Serling would be proud as I could imagine that he would have written this today. After you see “Moon”, go watch S1:E21 of the Twilight Zone (also Netflix). Jones took a long, drawn out denial reaction, perhaps due to the benefit of a feature length. Whereas Serling had 25 minutes to crush the narrative.
Either way, embrace your doppelgänger.
