Abominable (In theaters and Pay-per-View)

Abominable is just absurdly beautiful and playful and empowering. It’s a powerful teenage transformation story centered entirely around a female hero. Our 6 and 3 year-olds loved it, while mom and dad were a little misty-eyed by the end.

Abominable is a positive female hero narrative, something we need more of. Not because Yi, the main character, had any particularly feminine traits or advantages, but because she was strong and courageous in the face of adversity, while her gender had nothing to do with the plot or dialog.

Jill Colton, the writer AND director, did an amazing job with this. See it. Your kids will thank you and I’m wagering that you’ll really like it.
